Regulatory Compliance
Dental practice websites must comply with EU Directives and UK Statutory Instruments 2013 2002 and 2426 2003. The General Dental Council (GDC) and Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) oversee implementation. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) ensures practices comply with applicable dentistry laws.
It is the responsibility of the client (preferably the Practice Principal) to ensure the veracity of website information. Practice webmasters must maintain ongoing compliance with online regulations.
4. Electronic Communications
The dental profession requires special confidentiality protections for patient data. All Valident e-communications are sent and stored in encrypted format and we will seek customer consent to access encrypted client data in the event of an emergency or in response to a lawful request for disclosure.
5. The Valident Website Accreditation Service
All subscribers must be registered with the GDC and ICO. Their dental practice must be registered with the CQC and remain so throughout the Valident Licence term. The licence permits displaying the Valident Website Compliance Logo at the practice website URL.
