Our Story

Our background

Valident has been supporting dental referral management for over fifteen years — originally under the Dentsure brand, which was one of the earliest digital referral platforms in UK dentistry.

In 2024, ownership of the platform transitioned following the retirement of its original founder, Nigel Knott. Under new ownership, the platform has been rebuilt, rebranded and modernised — but the core mission remains the same: to help receiving practices manage referrals in a structured, secure and transparent way.

Built on experience

Valident is owned and led by Alex Wood, who brings over twenty-five years of experience in web development, infrastructure and security.

Alex has been involved with the platform since 2010 — initially in a development and support role — and acquired the business in 2024 with a clear focus: to modernise the technology, strengthen the security model and deliver a referral management system that practices can rely on.
